| SEND BETTER PHOTOS! | ||
|
Every day, we receive an armload of envelopes from artist wishing to get their tattoo work published in Skin & Ink. A great many of these photos show tattoos that we would like to share with our readers, but the photography leaves a lot to be desired. In other words, we like the ink but the photos suck. Because of this, we have published several articles on how to shoot tattoo photos, but the results haven't significantly changed. Rememeber, we won't publish photos that make you look bad. Here are the guidelines: 1. Photos only, no electronic images or CDs, please. 2. Each photo must have the artist’s name, shop name, city and state on the back side. 3. Indicate the above using a non-smear Sharpie super-fine point, business card or typed label. 4. Enclose an SASE (self-addressed, stamped envelope), if you wish the photos returned. 5. Number each photo, so you know which ones we kept. 6. Please do not send photos that have been sent or published elsewhere. If we do not accept a photo for publication, it may be because it is too small, too large, too dark, too light, flash-burned, out of focus, has a confusing image or background, we can’t figure out what it is, it’s a rip-off of someone else’s work, it’s simply not our style or the design has been derived from flash we’ve already seen or know about. Hope this helps. We'll be looking for your photos in the next mail. |

| HOW TO SUBMIT PHOTOS | ||
| If you would like to be included in either the magazine's Readers' Gallery or the website's Readers' Photos, please send photos only (not electronic images) with the artist's name, shop name and city on the back of each one (use a non-smear Sharpie or typed label). Include an SASE (stamped, self-addressed envelope) and number each photo consecutively (1, 2,3, etc.). That way, when the photos are returned, if number 7 and number 5 are missing, for example, you know we kept them. Send to: Skin&Ink, 4110 SE Hawthorne Blvd., Portland, Oregon 97214. | ||
